Scalps | Western Movie Indians

Scalps - The commander of a Texan fort in the Civil War refuses to surrender to the Northerners, and tries to buy the local Indian tribe chief's daughter. The sage man refuses, and the Southerners massacre the tribe and abduct the young squaw anyway. The noble squaw manages to escape, and hides out with a rough rancher, who dislikes Indians, but hates the Southerners more. The odd couple joins forces, and tactics, to exert ultimate vengeance on the men at the fort. Scalps (1987) Director: Claudio Fragasso, Bruno Mattei Writers: Italo Gasperini(story), Richard Harrison(story), Bruno Mattei(screenplay) Stars: Vassili Karis, Mapi Galán, Alberto Farnese Genre: Western, Action, Drama Country: Italy, Spain Language: English Release Date: 14 October 1987 (France) Filming Location: Incir De Paolis Studios, Rome, Lazio, Italy Reviews: "Not a bad one for Mattei. Released at the same time with White Apache, and according to rumors with more input by Mattei (who apparently directed most of this film) than on White Apache. Lots of bad dialogue of course, but that was more or less expected. The music was for certain parts quite good, in the vein of older spaghettis but during other parts awful with more modern (whatever) flavor. The film was certainly watchable, much better than, for instance, Zombi 3 which he "Co-directed" when Fulci was away for one or other reason. Mattei also tried here for some parts (usually in vein, though) to create this into a some kind of 'drama' film which was not so successful. I have no idea about which version is uncut and which one is not, the version I saw was on Greek video. If you find this one somewhere, check it out. It's not that bad as it is rumored to be (depending on your tastes, of course). I enjoyed it anyway." - written by "thomas-sundback" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Scalps Brazil Escalpo Finland Päänahat France Scalps Greece Scalps Hungary Véres skalpok Italy Scalps Portugal Yarin, a Índia Vingadora Soviet Union (Russian title) Скальпы Spain (promotional title) ¡Scalps! There's a Noose Waiting for You Trinity! | George Martin | Free Western Movie

There's a Noose Waiting for You Trinity! - Trinity is an ex-gunslinger desperately wanting to be forgiven and accepted by his family that he abandoned years earlier. There's a Noose Waiting for You Trinity! (1972) Director: Alfonso Balcázar (as George Martin) Writers: Alfonso Balcázar (story), Giovanni Simonelli (screenplay) (as G. Simonelli) Stars: George Martin, Marina Malfatti, Klaus Kinski Country: Spain, Italy Language: English Release Date: December 14, 1972 (Italy) Also Known As: A Noose Is Waiting for You Trinity Filming Locations: Elios Film, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: Trinity is an ex-gunslinger desperately wanting to be forgiven and accepted by his family that he abandoned years earlier. Unfortunately for him, a ruthless bounty hunter is on his trail. The bounty hunter tracks Trinity down and forces him to return to his violent ways in order to protect himself and his family. Reviews: "This was a hoot. Though I must say Kinski and Morricone saved this from total mediocrity. The plot is atypical spaghetti. It's more of a shane stoyline with a bounty hunter(Kinski) after shane as an added perk to the plot. George Martin is pretty good though and the baddies are really bad. Yes there is bad dubbing unintentionally funny lines and everything you expect from the genre but Morricone's harmonica theme is genuinely touching and raises the film everytime it underscores a scene, especially effective at the end. This movie would work without it but it would be nothing special. As for Kinski. This is unquestionably one of his best roles in a western. Everytime he's on screen is pure magic, even with the dubbing. And the ending to the movie is quite touching though it wouldn't be half as good without the actions of . . . who else KINSKI!! There is a German PAL dvd of this film. It's hard to find but if you do grab it." Written by ster2001 via IMDb.com "A very moving film, strongly influenced by Shane. the hero (played by George Martin) returns to his family 6 years after avenging his brother's murder. he agrees to put down his guns and become a rancher. meanwhile, some baddies (very bad) threaten his family and the local ranchers. Klaus Kinski, as a bounty hunter stalks the hero to claim a $5,000 reward. great performances and a powerful ending. a beautiful Morricone score. apparently, only available in DVD in a Best Entertainment German Pal 0 release (it played on my DVD player)." Written by tomdowse via IMDb.com "George Martin returns to his family's farm after six years on the run for killing his brother's murderer. He makes a vow to his wife, never to use violence again, but runs afoul of vicious land-grabbers and ruthless bounty hunter Klaus Kinski. Billed on some prints as a bogus Trinity sequel, this is actually a remake of a previous spaghetti western, Clint The Stranger, also starring Martin in an identical role with some footage from the previous film used as a flashback. Both films are about on par, though if watching both, the viewer is liable to decide for his or herself which one is better." Apache Fury | SPAGHETTI WESTERN

Apache Fury - A judge encounters a man (Frank Latimore) he once wronged after an Apache attack. The attack forces him, his fiancée and their fellow stagecoach passengers to take refuge at a rest stop. Apache Fury (1964) Director: José María Elorrieta (as Joe Lacy) Writers: José María Elorrieta (as Joseph De Lacy), Eduardo Guzmán (novel) (as Edward Goodman) Stars: Frank Latimore, Nuria Torray, Jesús Puente Genre: Western Country: Spain, Italy Language: English Release Date: 1 October 1964 (Spain) Also Known As: Fury of the Apaches Filming Locations: Aranjuez, Madrid, Spain Storyline: A judge encounters a man (Frank Latimore) he once wronged after an Apache attack. The attack forces him, his fiancée and their fellow stagecoach passengers to take refuge at a rest stop. Written on on rottentomatoes.com Reviews: "FURY OF THE APACHES is an early spaghetti western made before the stratospheric success of Sergio Leone's A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, and thus it has little in common with the Eastwood film. Instead it feels very much like an updating of the John Ford classic STAGECOACH mixed with Howard Hawks' RIO BRAVO, featuring a bunch of characters fending off a frenzied mob of Apache Indians who are more than a little upset about the sudden death of their leader at the hands of one of the group. On paper, FURY OF THE APACHES sounds decent enough although it's the type of film let down by the lack of budget and expertise that makes it a lacklustre experience throughout. It's a noisy production, sure, with a lot of action scenes, but fewer of them are entertaining than you'd expect and the end result is all too familiar and much the same as any number of Ameircan B-movie westerns. The only time this film really rises above the norm is during a speeding stagecoach chase which is well staged given the constraints." Written by Leofwine_draca on IMDb.com "Way back in 1939 a short story, Stage Station, was written by legendary western writer, Ernest Haycox, of Union Pacific & Stagecoach fame. This story was used at least twice by Hollywood, Apache Trail (1942) & Apache War Smoke (1952). Now I know very little about Eduardo Guzmán, (aka Edward Goodman) who is credited with writing the novel that this movie is supposedly based on, but I can sure as hell spot the same story when it is used frequently. Apache Trail & Apache War Smoke both credit the writing honours to Ernest Haycox, Apache Fury makes no mention of him, which I find very strange as the story used is practically a carbon copy. A wagon train station is used as a sanctuary by a wagon that has come under Indian attack. The station master is known by some of the passengers and hanger-ons. The wagon is also carrying a large sum of money, which becomes the sole focus of a couple of no-goods. All the while the Indians have a very real reason for wanting one of the passengers, he mistakenly killed a chief of some friendly Indians. There are some minor differences from the Haycox story, but not many nor are they important parts of the plot. The genesis of this movie is very disappointing in my opinion." Death Is Sweet from the Soldier of God | SPAGHETTI WESTERN | Free Cowboy Film

Free Western Movie: Death Is Sweet from the Soldier of God - A former sheriff, after being accused of a robbery and escaping from jail with a revolutionary bandit, seeks revenge for his brother and his family. Death Is Sweet from the Soldier of God (1972) Director: Roberto Mauri (as Robert Johnson) Writers: Roberto Mauri (story), Roberto Bianchi Montero (story) (as Roberto Montero) Stars: Brad Harris, José Torres, Maretta Procaccini Genre: Western Country: Italy Language: English Release Date: 2 April 1972 (Italy) Also Known As: Er säte den Tod Filming Locations: Incir De Paolis Studios, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: A former sheriff, after being accused of a robbery and escaping from jail with a revolutionary bandit, seeks revenge for his brother and his family. Reviews: "Brad Harris had signed a contract for three westerns with a production company called Three Stars, but only two of the three movies were completed, Wanted Sabata and Arriva Durango, Paga o Muori. This third part (See Database Page) was produced by another company, and is said to be an assembly of re-edited scenes of the first two movies, with a couple of new scenes added (*1). The film is best know for a couple of great titles (in Italian and English) plus a wonderful poster design, also used for various releases of the movie on VHS and DVD. Biggest throwback: the scene depicted on the poster, is not in the movie. Harris is Durango (Django in some versions) and he’s a former sheriff falsely accused of a robbery. He ends up in jail with a guy called Spirito Santo, who was arrested for steeling money he needed for the revolution and his poor family at home in Mexico - at least that’s what he says (he also pretends to be one-eyed). The two are sprung out of jail by a mystery man and subsequently join a gang of Mexicans who are looking for the stolen strongbox: Durango to prove his innocence, Santo to collect money for the revolution. We also get a vengeance tale, with Durango looking for the man who killed his brother and his wife. As one might expect from an assembly movie, Death is Sweet ... doesn’t hang together. The vengeance tale is particularly stupid: Durango tracks down the killer and takes his revenge, but an earlier scene clearly showed that this man - played by Vassili Karis - was not responsible for the slayings; when he arrived on the spot, Durango’s relatives were already dead and he has been trying to eliminate Durango ever since, because he - Durango - would never believe that he was innocent. What nonsense! Is the movie worth tracking down? Harris is his usual self, steady as a rock and acting like one, but the patchwork seems to hurt Torres' performance: In Arriva Durango ... his hyperactive style worked well in combination with Harris' stoicism, but here his character has no consistency and his overzealous routines - invoking la madre de Dios every other minute or so - quickly become annoying. For completists only. But that poster is a killer." Written by Simon Gelten on spaghetti-western.net. Also Known As (AKA): (original title): Seminò morte... lo chiamavano il Castigo di Dio! Bud Spencer & Terence Hill Western Movie: All the Way Boys - A bush-flying duo crash-land in the heart of the Peruvian jungle where an unscrupulous speculator controls a precious emerald source and an entire mining community. Can they right the wrongs, and in the process, manage to make a profit? All the Way Boys (1972) Director: Giuseppe Colizzi Writers: Giuseppe Colizzi (screenplay), Barbara Alberti (screenplay), Amedeo Pagani (screenplay) Stars: Terence Hill, Bud Spencer, Reinhard Kolldehoff Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Country: Italy Language: English Also Known As: Plane Crazy Release Date: December 22, 1972 (Italy) Synopsis: The "Trinity" crew makes another modern era film. Plata and Salud are pilots ditching aircraft for insurance money. They wind up crashing for real in the jungles of South America. The plot involves "Mr. Big", who is buying the diamonds from the miners for much too little, and has thugs who keep the price down. Of course, Plata and Salud side with the miners... Reviews: "I love these guys! Most their movies I saw as a child but even seeing them now I still consider them my all-time favorites & I can still watch them over & over & over without getting the least bit tired of them. "All The Way Boys" takes them away from the ole west but still carries the same great clean & fun humor these guys are known for. You will see LOTS of actors from previous/future Hill/Spencer films in this one. Lots of fun to watch & even the actors looked like they had a lot of fun filming it. I hope one day someone will have their full catalog of films released on DVD. Perhaps a box set?? Great movie with a very catchy soundtrack. On the site of the killing, a town, Gold Hill grows up, run by a group of businessmen. Years later, El Rojo, alias the last surviving Sorenson arrives, bringing the truth about the massacre, and revenge. Reviews: "Pretty predictable from the word go … or at least as soon as our leading citizens start getting threats via Indian arrow. The surprise here isn’t so much the plot, but some of the methods Sorenson uses to exact his vengeance. As for El Rojo, he’s referred to that precisely one time in this version of the film. And we never are really clued in about the back-story between Sorenson and Consuelo. Two moments you’re likely to remember: The appearance of a fast gun for hire named Black Bart who wears a mask over the lower half of his face to hide a horrific scar, and a rousing rendition of the song “To the West We Shall Go” by Nieves Navarro’s character." The Mercenary | SPAGHETTI WESTERN | Franco Nero | Old Cowboy Film

Spaghetti Western in Full Length: The Mercenary - A greedy Polish mercenary aids a mine worker and peasant girl as they lead a revolution against the oppressive Mexican Government, and are pursued by an American rival. The Mercenary (1968) Director: Sergio Corbucci Writers: Franco Solinas (story), Giorgio Arlorio (story) Stars: Franco Nero, Tony Musante, Franco Giacobini Genre: Comedy, Western Runtime: 1h 45min Country: Italy | Spain | USA Language: English | Italian | Spanish Filming Locations: Madrid, Spain Also Known As: Il mercenario (original title) Storyline: While a Mexican revolutionary lies low as a U.S. rodeo clown, the cynical Polish mercenary who tutored the idealistic peasant tells how he and a dedicated female radical fought for the soul of the guerrilla general Paco, as Mexicans threw off repressive government and all-powerful landowners in the 1910s. Tracked by the vengeful Curly, Paco liberates villages, but is tempted by social banditry's treasures, which Kowalski revels in. Reviews: I recently got hold of the Japanese DVD print via ebay. This is of really high quality and I was amazed that this film is not more widely known or appreciated. What a brilliant film. In many ways it is similar to Companeros and if you liked that wonderful film you will also love this. The story is somewhat far-fetched but is very enjoyable and fast paced in a 'boys own' way. The machine gun makes its familiar appearance. Franco Nero, as always, delivers a superb performance and Jack Palance gives a very good performance as a very unpleasant killer. The music is brilliant and the duel in the bullring is incomparable and is perfectly choreographed to the wonderful music. If you are interested in westerns you have to see this film. Written by washboard via IMDb.com "The second collaboration of Sergio Corbucci, the Italian Western's most important director besides Sergio Leone, and Franco Nero, one of the genre's greatest actors, after the ingenious "Django" from 1966, "Il Mercenario", a movie set in the time of the Mexican revolution, and therefore late for a Western, is a must-see for every fan of the genre. Sergei Kowalski (Franco Nero) gets hired by short-tempered revolutionary Paco Roman (Tony Musante), in order to help his squad of unexperienced rebels with their campaign for a free Mexico. While Paco is a crook, but also an idealist, becoming more and more idealistic after his troop is joined by beautiful and idealistic Columba, a woman whose father was a revolutionary , the Polish is a typical anti-hero, witty and cool and somehow sympathetic, but mainly concerned on his own benefit. The acting is great, specially Franco Nero as the Polish, and Jack Palance's performance as one of the villains. Another villain is played by Eduardo Fajardo, who played the villainous Major Jackson in Django. The score of this movie, composed by Ennio Morricone, is just brilliant (how couldn't it), the cinematography is great as well as the locations. My favorite film by Corbucci is still the incomparably brilliant "Il Grande Silenzio" ("aka. "The Great Silence") of 1968, "Django" of 1966 being my second-favorite due to its immense entertainment- and cult-value. Maybe not quite as brilliant as "Il Grande Silenzio" and not quite as influential as "Django", "Il Mercenario" is nonetheless an exceptional Spaghetti Western with a great sense of humor that I would recommend to everybody, not only genre fans. 9 out of 10!" He hires Hallelujah, a mysterious gunfighter, take down European emperor Maximilian by seizing a purse of jewels intended to be used for the purchase of weapons. This is no easy assignment as he must fight off bandits, secret agents, a fake sister, a so-called Russian prince and other scoundrels! Reviews: "until Mr. Tarantino recently included this film in his recent 'festival-of-classics', i thought only my family knew of it. i happened upon it on late-nite KTLA TV, and as my true San Diego mansion was 120 miles from LA, my 'hill-top' location, still allowed me to record it, on Beta-Max. i have seen this termed 'trash'. 'Shame, Shame, come back Shame! this, as 'Any Gun Can Play'('Kookie's best performance)is not your usual 'pasta-western'. no Leonie 'dark-side'--rather trenchant humor, and very-oddly, a rather strong link to modern physics. What??? the theme of 'perceptor-as-creator' is the 'base' for many scenes. those unaware of this line of 'quantum-physics' simply will see what sometimes appears as absurd, actually agrees with same. 'i pity the poor fool'--- i Love 16mm 'hand-held' photo-tech, and as both fixed, or 'hand-held', this unknown masterpiece blows-away the typical American camera-work. in fact, one may pause Any frame and observe a bit of Absolute Superb 'Modern-Impressionism', that should grace any Great museum---the colors, balance--Perfect. Captivating. This film-art 'nails' any cognizant viewer from opening scenes on-- 'Performance-wise'? one must remember this is 'dubbed' to English', so some lines may seem clumsy. yet the characters from the Mexican revolutionary, Russian thief. false Nun, etc. are brilliantly directed. Plot-wise? so it's the old 'gunslinger's-riches-hunt' formula? who cares? this one is Supreme, Breathtaking cinema work, for camera-alone. i was so taken with this, i spent +bucks to reach the 'hidden' producer. and i did. 1st he wanted to know how i found him, as the Italian 'IRS' was haunting him. then he informed me the 'rights' had been sold to an American co., seeking a flop as a tax-shelter--HA! sound like 'The Producers'? he also mentioned this film was a huge success in Europe and South America, yet ignored here, as Hollywood controls distribution." Have a Good Funeral, My Friend... Sartana Will Pay | SPAGHETTI WESTERN | Cowboy Movie

Have a Good Funeral, My Friend... Sartana Will Pay - When a young woman inherits a goldmine from her murdered uncle, Sartana comes to her aid as various swindlers, including the local sheriff, try to claim it as their own. Have a Good Funeral, My Friend... Sartana Will Pay (1970) Director: Giuliano Carnimeo Writers: Giovanni Simonelli, Roberto Gianviti Stars: Gianni Garko, Antonio Vilar, Daniela Giordano Genre: Western Country: Italy, Spain Language: English Also Known As: A Coffin from Sartana Release Date: October 8, 1970 (Italy) Filming Location: Cinecittà Studios, Cinecittà, Rome, Lazio, Italy Synopsis: After witnessing a brutal massacre, the legendary hero Sartana is ready to do some investigating. Almost everyone in the tiny town of Indian Creek seems eager to buy up the property left behind by the murder victims, and one of them could well be behind the killings. The sheriff himself is not above suspicion, so Sartana must uncover the culprit all on his own. Reviews: "Garko and Carnimeo cooperated in some good Italo-Westerns in the late 60s/early 70s, most remarkable is the "Sartana"-Series. This is definitely one of the best Sartana-Movies; tough, cynical and with a lot of humor, seasoned with all herbs of an excellent italo-western. The plot has some twists, good shoot-outs and a decent body count. The soundtrack's fine, good work done by Bruno Nicolai. The cast is standard with lot's of Italian b-movie heroes (ruffini, dell' acqua...) I had a lot of fun with this movie and it's worth watching it more than one time. Check out "Gli fumavano le Colt... lo chiamavano Camposanto",another good movie with Garko." - written by "zossen" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Buon funerale amigos!... paga Sartana A Present for You, Amigo... Something Big | Dean Martin | Free Cowboy Film | Full Western Movie

Something Big - A man kidnaps the wife of a cavalry commander in order to exchange her for a Gatling gun that's being sold by a gun runner. Something big(1971): Director: Andrew V. McLaglen Writer: James Lee Barrett Stars: Dean Martin, Brian Keith, Carol White Genres: Comedy, Western Country: USA Language: English Filming Locations: Durango, Mexico Storyline: Joe Baker has a dream. He wants to do 'something big.' When he needs a Gatling gun to accomplish this, he seeks out a black marketeer. The price he wants for the gun? A woman! So Baker kidnaps a woman off of the stagecoach, only to find that she is the wife of the commandant of the local Cavalry detachment. Things get further complicated when a girl named Dover McBride shows up. She has come to force Baker to marry her and return east, as he promised to do four years earlier. Written by Alfred Jingle Review: While stationed in Thailand in 1972 during the Vietnam War, I had an opportunity to get a part-time job operating a movie projector at the base theater for the midnight show. One of the films I was fortunate to show was "Somthing Big", a rowdy, unpretentious western with a fun and talented cast headed by Dean Martin, Brian Keith, Albert Salmi and Honor Blackman. The film's strongest point is that it didn't take itself too seriously, yet still presented a fine array of subplots and character studies that nicely wove themselves together to a rousing finale. What has stuck out most in my mind for over the past 30+ years, however, was the movie's theme song. Like the film itself, the title song was a joyous and melodic tribute to the desire in everyone to reach for that star in the heavens, or that impossible dream. It is disappointing that the film never made it to VHS or DVD. If it ever shows up on cable TV, don't miss an opportunity to see this lost guilty pleasure. Western Movie in Full Length: Santee - A bounty hunter takes in the son of a man he killed. Santee (1973) Director: Gary Nelson Writers: Brand Bell, Thomas W. Blackburn (uncredited) Stars: Glenn Ford, Michael Burns, Dana Wynter Genre: Western Country: United States Language: English Release Date: September 1973 (United States) Filming Location: Cerro Pelon Movie Ranch - 5547 Highway 41, Galisteo, New Mexico, USA Synopsis: Jody Deakes joins up with his father after many years, only to discover that his dad is part of an outlaw gang on the run from a relentless bounty hunter named Santee. Jody is orphaned soon after Santee catches up to the gang, and follows Santee in hopes of taking vengeance for his father's death. Instead, however, Jody discovers that Santee is a good and loving man, tormented by the death of his young son at the hands of another outlaw gang. Santee and his wife take Jody in and a father-son relationship begins to grow. Then the gang that killed Santee's son shows up. Reviews: ""Santee" is a decent enough film, but it's "Jody" song that comes and goes throughout the movie is reason enough to deduct a point! The film begins with a really BAD family reunion. Jody, a 19 year- old guy, comes upon his father and three of his 'friends'. It seems that Jody barely knows his dad and was raised by his divorced mother. Well, wouldn't you know that the father and his men are on the run from the law! Soon, a bounty hunter, Santee (Glenn Ford), shows and quickly dispatches the guilty four men--leaving Jody a bit shocked to say the least! Jody is angry enough at Santee to kill...but inexplicably, Santee is nice to him and realizes he was not involved with his father's gang and their crimes. What follows is a bonding between Jody and Santee, as Santee takes him home with him and treats him decently. All this bromance, however, is short- lived, as the men who wronged Santee so long ago and set him on a life as a bounty hunter arrive in town--and they are really bad dudes! The film has a rather original plot and I enjoyed it. But 1970s god-awful music took away, somewhat, from my enjoyment. Still, despite this, it's worth your time. Plus, you get to see Jay Silverheels in a role much more interesting than playing Tonto to the Lone Ranger." - written by "planktonrules" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Santee Brazil Santee - O Caçador de Recompensas Canada Santee(English) Canada Les trois flèches(French) Denmark Santee - den ensomme hævner Finland Santee - kuoleman kätyri Germany Santee - Der blutige Pfad der Rache(DVD Title) Greece Σαντύ, ο κυνηγός των παρανόμων Italy Vivo quanto basta per ammazzarti Mexico Santee el vengador Romania Santee Spain Tres flechas Sweden Santee - Prisjägaren(Video Title) United Kingdom Santee United States Santee West Germany Santee - Der Einzelgänger ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE WESTERN MOVIES! ► Classics: https://bit.ly/2CBLt8c ► Spaghetti Western: https://bit.ly/2CyCe8I ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2EOOfIH #westernmovies #freemovies #westernmovie COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed. Full Length Spaghetti Western starring Lola Falana: Black Tigress - Lola, a saloon dancer arrives in the town of Sant'Anna with some other dancers. The town is however terrorized by El Diablo an outlaw who wants to sell the surrounding land to the railroad company. Lola helps the colonists rebel together with Rod, a youth who has fallen in love with her. Black Tigress (1967) Director: Siro Marcellini Writers: Luigi Angelo (story), Lamberto Antonelli Stars: Lola Falana, Peter Martell, Germán Cobos Genre: Action, Drama, Musical Country: Italy Language: English Release Date: 22 October 1967 (Italy) Also Known As: Lola kolt Filming Locations: Elios Studios, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: Lola, a saloon dancer arrives in the town of Sant'Anna with some other dancers. The town is however terrorized by El Diablo an outlaw who wants to sell the surrounding land to the railroad company. Lola helps the colonists rebel together with Rod, a youth who has fallen in love with her. Reviews: "Sexy showgirl Lola Colt fights off the advances of the evil El Diablo, while plotting with handsome medical student Peter Martell to free the town and a group of hostages from his clutches. An Italian western with a black female protagonist (!), this vehicle for pop-star Lola Falana is a bit more entertaining than it seems like it would be. It's a little contrived, though fairly earnest and surprisingly straight-faced, playing more like a nineteen-forties B-picture than a nineteen-sixties spaghetti western, at least until Lola straps on some six-shooters for a violent climax. A compact running time helps too. An interracial romance between Lola and Martell, as well as a kiss between Lola and El Diablo appear to have been scrubbed from the English language version." Written by FightingWesterner on IMDb.com "Lola Colt" was made during the height of the spaghetti western craze in Italy, though it only got theatrically released in the United States nine years later, where it was marketed as a blaxploitation flick. I am sure that African Americans who went to see this movie were disappointed. To be sure, actress Lola Falana looks both pretty and comfortable in her surroundings. Also, there is refreshingly no reference to her race at any point in the movie (though this fact may make much of this movie hard to swallow to some in the audience.) However, Falana isn't given much to do for the most part. In fact, she more or less becomes a supporting character instead of a true lead character. She eventually straps on some guns for the climax, a climax that gives the movie some much needed action after being so talky and uneventful before then. And after the climax, the movie comes to a near halt again, and we have to wait a considerable amount of time before the movie finally comes to an end. Die hard fans of spaghetti westerns might find a little interest in this movie both for its unusual set-up and how it pretty much completely botches this set-up. For others, well, there are a lot better spaghetti westerns out there." God's Gun - A priest and his twin brother take turns defending a small town from the vicious Clayton gang. God's Gun (1976) Director: Gianfranco Parolini Writers: John Fonseca, Gianfranco Parolini Stars: Lee Van Cleef, Jack Palance, Richard Boone Genre: Western Country: Italy, Israel Language: English Release Date: 1976 (Italy) Filming Location: Israel Synopsis: Intent on murder, the vicious cut-throats of the pitiless bandit, Sam Clayton, ride into dusty Juno City, rob the bank, and kill the pacifistic man of religion, Father John, in front of the church. As the semi-inebriated sheriff decides not to take action, the priest's young protégé, Johnny, gambles with death to find the deceased's twin brother, Lewis, in Mexico, and talk him into settling the score. Can Diamante Lobo, the feared ex-bounty hunter, right a wrong, and in the process, rid the town of Clayton's jackals? Reviews: "I thought this was an excellent picture. Lee Van Cleef does an excellent job playing the role of Father John and the role of Lewis. Jack Palace was excellent in his role as Sam Clayton. The reason I bought this movie was Sybil Danning. You didn't see much of Sybil Danning body in this because it was a western but, she was excellent in her role as Jenny the owner of the saloon. Her talents as an actress really shined in this picture. So, with that in mind, and because this movie kept my interest through the entire picture I'm giving this movie 10 weasels stars because of Sybil Danning and the level of action , adventure and drama this movie had from beginning to end. Dynamite Joe | Spaghetti Western | Wild West Movie | Cowboy Classic | Free Movie | English

Italian Western Comedy published in 1967 satrring Rik Van Nutter: Dynamite Joe - In order to put an end to the numerous ambushes on the gold transports which are a real menace to the finances of the American government, the agent Joe Ford, called Dynamite Joe due to his liking for explosives, is entrusted with controlling the next transfer. Dynamite Joe (1967) Director: Antonio Margheriti Writers: María del Carmen Martínez Román, María del Carmen Martínez Román Stars: Rik Van Nutter, Halina Zalewska, Merce Castro Genre: Western, Comedy Country: Italy, Spain Language: English Release Date: 30 November 1972 Also Known As: Dynamite Joe Filming Locations: Desierto de Tabernas, Almería, Andalucía, Spain Storyline: In order to put an end to the numerous ambushes on the gold transports which are a real menace to the finances of the American government, the agent Joe Ford, called Dynamite Joe due to his liking for explosives, is entrusted with controlling the next transfer. Reviews: "Anyone expecting another grim, operatic Italian revenge oater can skip Dynamite Joe. Rik van Nutter is an Eastwood lookalike from a few angles and Antonio Margheriti plays that up in the first few minutes before Joe goes back to a Robert Conrad/Wild Wild West style hero who's a specialist with explosives. van Nutter does an all around good job as a womanizing, easygoing troubleshooter. Hired to transport a gold shipment, Joe sets off huge explosions, romances two pretty girls, tangles with Mexican bandits and crooked American politicians. The cinematography is good, the music by Savina fits the tone of this wacky film and the action is fine, especially a stage coach Chase. There have been comedy westerns alla Italianni before such as Any Gun Can Play and straight westerns with some humor in spots but Dynamite Joe is total silly tongue in cheek slapstick which probably accounts for the heavy criticism." Written by jameselliot-1 on IMDb.com "Too much gold disappears during transports, so that the bank director hires an expert to guard the next one: Dynamite Joe (Rik Van Nutter)! Bandits and corrupt business-men are already making plans how to get rid of him, but Joe is prepared for many enemies with plenty of explosives. The first western movie by Antonio Margheriti is somewhat too pedestrian. In the first half of the movie, nothing much is happening except discussions with bank directors and watching the saloon dancers. Only in the middle of the movie, when the villain seriously starts to attack Dynamite Joe (who replies with, guess what, a very big explosion), the audience wakes up and gets the opportunity to watch a movie that is somewhat entertaining at least in the second half, when the gold transport is on the way. Rik Van Nutter (best known for playing Felix Leiter in the James Bond movie 'Thunderball') is a kind of hero that rather is at home in secret agent movies and appears to be miscast here." Full Western Movie: Bullets Don't Argue - On his own wedding day, sheriff Pat Garrett must leave and try to arrest two bank robbers. Bullets Don't Argue (1964) Director: Mario Caiano (as Fred Wilson, Manfred Riegert, Mike Perkins) Writers: Gianni Castellano (screenplay) (as Franz Wieland, Franz Waller), Giuseppe Moccia (screenplay) (as Daniel Mooch, Donald Mooch) Stars: Rod Cameron, Ángel Aranda, Horst Frank Genre: Western Country: Italy | Spain | West Germany Language: English Release Date: 23 October 1964 (West Germany) Also Known As: Guns Don't Talk Filming Locations: Almería, Andalucía, Spain Storyline: On his own wedding day, sheriff Pat Garrett must leave and try to arrest two bank robbers. Reviews: "This is the film that Jolly Films of Rome and the other producing companies were putting their hopes and money into while tossing a bone to an unknown director named Sergio Leone, giving him film ends and minimal financing to shoot a movie called The Magnificent Stranger which featured a little-known American TV actor named Clint Eastwood. BULLETS DON'T ARGUE starred Rod Cameron, a bigger name, as Pat Garrett, with Horst Frank and Angel Aranda as Billy and George Clanton, thus mixing two old west legends into a very typically American spaghetti western. It kind of reminded me of the Budd Boetticher/Randolph Scott westerns of the late fifties, with Cameron as the stoic, older authority figure bringing in the wild, younger outlaws, and is pretty darned good, doing what it sets out to do. Oddly enough the highlight of Morricone's score is the song Lonesome Billy, about the elder of the outlaw brothers. BTW I think this is the film that did so poorly at the Italian box office that it prompted Variety to report that spaghetti westerns were dead, a week or so before the Leone/Eastwood film, retitled A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, turned the film world on its ear." Written by heybhc on IMDb.com. "This film is a ripping off of American westerns. When I say ripping off I don't mean it is a poor film. It has the typical western elements: sheriffs and bandits. The role of the characters is well defined and at the end of the story the good will triumph on bad. Many films-loving people didn't understand why this film hadn't had success in Italy. First of all it was played by unknown actors, at least in Italy. Moreover, westerns were getting to be on the wane from 1965. But the main reason is that Italians were bored about classic westerns ("the stagecoach", "Rio Grande", "Cimarron", "saddle the wind" etc) they preferred action, shootings and a bit of violence. So the film "a fistful of dollars" released a few weeks later was a great success because it started a new era of making westerns as Italians preferred. This was one of the first westerns to have false names of director and actors so as to make it seem like an American film. Probably it was shot without recording the audio even if many actors spoke English. It was released in Italian and in English both dubbed. Rod Cameron dubbed himself." The Desperate Mission | Ricardo Montalbán | Action Western | Cowboy Movie

Western Movie in Full Length: The Desperate Mission - A man who has lost everything joins others paid to convey a wealthy man's wife - and a mysterious treasure - to safety in San Francisco. The Desperate Mission (1969) Director: Earl Bellamy Writers: Richard Collins, Jack Guss Stars: Ricardo Montalban, Slim Pickens, Roosevelt Grier Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, Western Country: United States Language: English Also Known As: Joaquin Murieta Release Date: 20 November 1969 (USA) Filming Location: Durango, Mexico Storyline: 19th Century figure Joaquin Murietta is a formerly wealthy and respected California landowner. However, he has lost his land, his wife, and everything else he held dear. Embittered and questioning his previous faith in God and man, he joins a disparate group of men hired to convey a wealthy man's wife away from the bandit-ridden countryside to safety in San Francisco. Murietta discovers that the convoy is also carrying a treasure of great material and religious value. He finds himself challenged to decide what he believes, and what he should do, in the face of threats to himself, to the convoy, and to the people of southern California. Reviews: "This early TV movie is very enjoyable, starring Ricardo Montalban as the real life Joaquin Murrieta and it basically fictionalized story of how he was hired by Anthony Caruso to a scorched his wife Ina Balin to San Francisco along with a statue of the holy mother. There is betrayal afoot among the wagon train, and that risks the journey which has enough problems to deal with anyway. Slim Pickens and Earl Holliman give good performances as does Miriam Colon as Balin's maid who isn't as loyal as she seems. Then there's football hero Rosie Grier as a slave owned by Caruso, and he is surprisingly a better actor than you'd expect. While the story is obviously fiction, it's a good viewpoint of the days of early California, free from Spain, and basically open to grab from anybody who has the strength to grab it. An early encounter between Montalban and Holliman is quite humorous, with Holliman thinking he's got the better of Montalban but quite wrong. There's plenty of action, lots of thrills, and decent performances. Pickens gets some real material, proving that he is much more than just a comical cowboy. Montalban as usual is filled with charm and romance and humor, and always a joy to watch." - written by "mark.waltz" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) The Desperate Mission Belgium (French title) Joaquin Murieta, le rebelle Belgium (Flemish title) Joaquin Murieta, de rebel Brazil Joaquim Murieta Canada (English title) The Desperate Mission Canada (French title) Le Rebelle France Joaquin Murieta, le rebelle Italy La mano della vendetta Portugal Joaquim Murieta Romania Misiunea disperata Spain Misión desesperada UK Joaquin Murieta USA (alternative title) Joaquin Murietta USA The Desperate Mission West Germany Das Gold der Madonna ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE MOVIES! Western Movie in Full Length: Dead Men - Set in the lawless Old West, a young man and his brother are forced on a journey to avenge the death of their father, protect the Apache tribe they have grown to love and reclaim the land and gold that is rightfully theirs. Dead Men (2018) Director: Royston Innes Writers: Royston Innes, Ric Maddox Stars: Ric Maddox, Aaron Marciniak, Richard O. Ryan Genre: Action, Western Country: United States Language: English Release Date: 2 January 2018 (USA) Filming Location: Tombstone, Arizona, USA Reviews: "A very well-written and well-acted, beautifully produced story that moves fast and rides hard-but stops here and there for some truly awesome moments of drama, and even some humor in well-placed spots. There are certain scenes and shots that literally made me and my fellow viewers gasp. Satisfying and well-rounded in the classic Western style but with some new twists. The cinematography captures the epic sweep of the Old West and the characters are larger than life but in a very authentic way, the way a great Western should be. I highly recommend it!" - written by "craigold" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Dead Men Canada (English title) Dead Men Germany Dead Men - Das Gold der Apachen UK Dead Men UK Dead Men USA Dead Men USA Dead Men ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE MOVIES! ► Classics: https://bit.ly/2CBLt8c ► Spaghetti Western: https://bit.ly/2CyCe8I ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2EOOfIH #westernmovies #freemovies #spaghettiwesterns COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed. Old Cowboy Movie: Comanche - Common efforts of the U.S. government and the Comanche nation to negotiate a peace treaty are sabotaged by renegade Indians and by the short-sighted Indian Commissioner. Comanche (1956) Director: George Sherman Writers: Carl Krueger Stars: Dana Andrews, Kent Smith, Nestor Paiva Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: 14 May 1956 Filming Locations: Durango, Mexico Storyline: Indian scout Jim Read is picked by his commander to set up a meeting between Comanche Chief Quanah Parker and a representative from Washington to negotiate a peace treaty. People from the Comanche tribe as well as the US Calvary have reason to prevent the meeting from ever taking place. Romance, betrayal and fighting ensue. Reviews: "A decent western that might on the surface look routine with its cavalry vs Comanche story, however, there are some fresh touches such as when after the Indian attack on the Mexican village a curve ball is thrown when it's revealed that the Comanches are somewhat justified in their attack, plus Dana's character is the cousin of Quannah Parker. And though the action is lacking, the ending is quite tense when Quannah and his natives appear on the mountain, their vocalisation sounding eerie. Of course, what follows is a well structured action sequence. The performances from the actors are good, but it's Harry Brandon as Black Cloud who steals the scene with his snarl. The dialogue is also intelligent, especially between Dana's character and Quannah." -Written by "coltras35" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Comanche Austria Um jeden Preis Brazil Comanche Canada (English title) Comanche Canada (French title) Comanche Denmark Den sidste skalp Finland Mihin hintaan tahansa France Comanche Greece (transliterated title) Otan sfyrizoun oi sfaires Italy La saga dei comanches Japan (Japanese title) コマンチ族 Mexico Comanche Poland Komancze Portugal Até ao Último Homem Romania Comans Spain Duelo de razas Sweden Comanche Turkey (Turkish title) Komançolar savaşı UK Comanche USA Comanche West Germany Um jeden Preis Yugoslavia (Serbian title) (literal title) Komanci ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE MOVIES! ► Classics: https://bit.ly/2CBLt8c ► Spaghetti Western: https://bit.ly/2CyCe8I ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2EOOfIH #westernmovies #freemovies #spaghettiwesterns COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed. Western Movie in Full Length: A Long Ride from Hell - Mike Sturges and his younger brother, Roy, are sentenced to Yuma Penitentiary on a trumped-up train robbery charge. A Long Ride from Hell (1968) Director: Camillo Bazzoni (as Alex Burks) Writers: Gordon D. Shirreffs (from the novel "Judas Gun" by), Roberto Natale (screenplay) Stars: Steve Reeves, Wayde Preston, Guido Lollobrigida Country: Italy | Spain Language: English Release Date: 4 July 1969 Filming Locations: Elios Film Studios Storyline: In Arizona, the Sturges family owns a horse ranch. On the way to the market, their horses are stolen by masked outlaws who also kill the ranch hands. One cowpoke survives and sounds the alarm at the Sturges ranch. Owner Mike Sturges and his younger brother Roy, accompanied by their foreman Bobcat Bates go after the murderous horse thieves. Unfortunately, they will run into a gang of train robbers who wait in ambush for the next train carrying gold from the nearby mines. Bobcat is killed and brothers Mike and Roy shot and left for dead near the spot where the train is ambushed. The next day, the sheriff, his posse and Southern Pacific agents find Mike and Roy laying wounded at the scene of the train robbery. It's assumed they are members of the train robbing gang. Despite their pleas, the sheriff and his men beat Mike and Roy and arrest them. Later, they are sentenced to years of hard labor at the quarry belonging to Yuma Territorial Prison. In prison, the treatment of inmates is harsh. The sadistic guards' captain intentionally targets Mike and his frail brother Roy. With increasing doubts about Roy's chances of survival and Mike's chances at a pardon, it's decided to join a select group of inmates who are planning a prison break. Mike is dreaming of escaping in order to find the real train robbers and prove his innocence. He sorely misses his wife and ranch. But escaping Yuma Prison is no easy task and finding the train robbers will prove to be almost impossible since they are protected by a corrupt lawman who's on the take. Reviews: "Great movie that's been down played and over looked for years. Reeves was born to make Westerns. If you loved his "Sword and Sandal" films this one won't let you down. Cool action, great shoot outs and that classic build that put's his contemporaries to shame. On the other hand, if you like the Westerns that were coming out of Italy at the time, you've got to check this one out. Not going to go so far as to say he rivals Eastwood but Reeves is heads above most of the guys who tried their hands in the genre. Best of all it shows off Revee's horse riding skills that were only hinted to in the "Hercules" type films. Very hard to find on tape but well worth the effort once you get your hands on a copy." Free Western Movie: Man Called Gringo - Spaghetti Western - A group of outlaws take over a small frontier town and plan to stay awhile. A gunslinger arrives and decides to help the citizens take their community back, but the gang refuses to give up easily. Man Called Gringo (1965) Director: Roy Rowland Writers: Herbert Reinecker (screenplay) (as Alex Berg), Clarke Reynolds (screenplay) (as Clark Reynolds) Stars: Götz George, Alexandra Stewart, Helmut Schmid Genre: Western Country: West Germany | Spain Language: English Release Date: 19 March 1965 (West Germany) Also Known As: Ena pistoli gia ton Gringo Filming Locations: Colmenar Viejo, Madrid, Spain Storyline: A group of outlaws take over a small frontier town and plan to stay awhile. A gunslinger arrives and decides to help the citizens take their community back, but the gang refuses to give up easily. Reviews: "The movie gets Western action , shootouts , a love story , thrills and results to be quite entertaining . Set in 1895 , when a group of outlaws take over a small frontier town called Dakota . This is a tale of fear , greed and murder , set in a little town where happens a lot of incidents and shootouts . There bandits and rustlers plan to stay awhile, as they carry out robbing , assaults to win money at whatever cost by means of crime and terror . These outlaws called Reno (Sieghardt Rupp) and Gringo (Daniel Martín) are undercoveringly hired by a corrupt lawyer named Ken Denton (Helmut Schmid) . As the nasty gang (Rupp and Martin , both of them played in ¨For a fistful of dollars) assault a stagecoach and kill the mines owner called Walton (Pietro Tordi) , whose daughter to take the ownership of the transport company . Moreover , villainous Ken Denton wishes to take her business . In the meantime , a gunslinger called Mace Carson (Götz George) arrives and decides to help the citizens take their community back , as he is appointed sheriff but the band refuses to give up easily. Entertaining Chorizo/Schnitzel Western well produced by Alfons Carcasona with shoot'em up , action , violence , go riding , saloon brawls and amusement . It is a passable Western with a lot of surprises , thrills and including a love story between a drifter become a sheriff , Gotz George , and a beautiful owner , Alexandra Stewart . This film , realized in American Western style and no Spaghetti , contains Western-action , gun-play , fist-play and being enough amusing but mediocre . This Spanish/German western , probably won't be making too many top ten lists, but its an agreeable flick . It's a thrilling western that scrutinizes the greed and paranoia that afflicts an avaricious advocate at law played by Helmut Schmid , including breathtaking crossfire between protagonists when are besieged at a ranch against the enemies during the ending . It's a medium budget film with good actors , technicians , production values , pleasing results and turned to be shot entirely on location . Here filmmaker Roy Rowland delivers a decently-paced film , however he could be counted on to deliver solid "B" pictures which, at MGM , were often better than most other studios' . It's a stirring western with breathtaking gunfight between the brave protagonist Gotz George against the heartless Helmut Schmid and his nasty hoodlums : Daniel Martin and Rupp . Their dynamic together is also great and is what mostly keeps this movie going . Most players result to be too clean to compare with Sergio Leone's 'Man With No Name', so the result is nothing particular: too pretty for grit, too gritty for a traditional B and even a script co-written by Clark Reynolds can't do much . The film blends violence , thrills , high body-count and it's fast moving and exciting . [...]" Written by ma-cortes on IMDb.com. Free Western Movie: Bullets Don't Argue - Spaghetti Western - On his own wedding day, sheriff Pat Garrett must leave and try to arrest two bank robbers. Rod Cameron dubbed himself." To help do this, the captain brings in a party of women to keep his soldiers happy. Reviews: "A sad and dismal almost final ending for Robert Taylor. His handsome looks faded by time, drink, and possible lung cancer, Robert Taylor presents a depressing lifeless figure in this 3rd rate South American produced Western. As a big fan of Taylor, I really don't want to remember him in this film. Of course, this is easy to do, as this movie has virtually been lost to time. It's clear that Robert Taylor didn't have his heart in the role of "Captain Martin". He looks weather beaten, tired, and just plain worn out. His build is just too thin and he appears in ill health. Even the feel of this whole movie is that of people "Beaten-Up" by the passing of time and hard living. Savage Pampas is "savage" to watch. There is little to like and it's not even a pleasant night at the movies. Savage Pampas is just a dismal footnote in the faltering career of Robert Taylor." Wanted (1967) Director: Giorgio Ferroni (as Calvin Jackson Padget) Writers: Augusto Finocchi (story), Massimiliano Capriccioli (story) Stars: Giuliano Gemma, Germán Cobos, Teresa Gimpera Country: Italy Language: Italian Release Date: 27 April 1967 (West Germany) Also Known As: Für drei lumpige Dollar Filming Locations: Cinecittà Studios, Cinecittà, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: A local sheriff is unjustly accused of murder in a small town and forced to flee. He gets rid of his enemies one by one and tries to prove his innocence. Reviews: "As a teenager growing up in Somalia, my father brought me to see this movie (Wanted) for a treat. It was an open-air cinema, the Southern Cross was above us and as Padre Carmello gave refuge to Gary Ryan, the moon eclipsed. I was torn between looking at the screen and looking at the sky for I didn't want to miss the actions in the movie and the spectacular phenomenon of the eclipse. I am now in my late forties and my wife purchased the video from Cinecity in Netherlands on the Internet for my birthday. I couldn't believe my luck at being able to see this great movie again. The only difference is that this time is in English with Greek subtitles when before I watched it in Italian. In short, Gary Ryan, the new Sheriff of Greenfield falls for a trap and finds himself locked up under false testimony by Cheryl, the woman who owns the biggest hotel in Greenfield. Eventually he finds a way out to struggle against all odds for justice The other fascinating things about the movie are the names of the locations such as New Face Rock, Devils Cliff etc, inspired by nature. Here are some impressive lines: "What I think doesn't mean much unfortunately, proof and testimony are the only languages that the law recognizes" by Judge Anderson of Greenfield "Unreasonably risking your neck is against Gods law" by Padre Carmello. "He could be almost anywhere looking for some place to hide, alone hunted by the law and society-Wanted" by Martin Heywood (the Professional Gambler. "Pray your last, coward" by Fred Lloyd. Exciting story line, beautiful scenery, good camera works, especially the angles and moreover, the score is not short of Ennio Morricone. I would recommend to any Spaghetti fan." Written by aheibe on IMDb.com "In spite of what my fellow commenter states this is a fabulous Euro Western film by visionary director Giorgio Ferroni, who endows what might be an otherwise routine Oater about organized cattle rustling into a unique genre pastiche. Giuliano Gemma is well suited to the role of the lawman wrongly fingered for a crime he didn't commit seeking justice south of the border amongst the heavily made up extra actors who look about as authentic as Mexican peasants as the Little Rascals would. What makes the film work is Ferroni's visual prowess, combining sound stage footage with location work (some of which looks like Yugoslavia or maybe France) and a profound grasp of how to use color to make visual compositions that just happen to represent a cowboy movie. This one isn't quite a "Spaghetti Western", with a plot-heavy story rather than the usual posturing and exaggerated artiness of a Leone or Corbucci film. There are very few closeups of people's shoes, and the action sequences are more or less straightforward. The movie existed on the page before being visually realized. And for that reason I find it interesting; there is a surrealist bent going on here creating realities that are more "real" than a John Ford movie. What the movie may be lacking in terms of authenticity or visual flair is more than compensated for by a deliberate sense of composition. The movie looks like a storyboarded cartoon or graphic novel rather than a sprawling, dusty film epic, and the attention to character & set detail is refreshing. 7/10" Written by Squonkamatic on IMDb.com ···················································································· FOLLOW US! ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE MOVIES! ► Classics: https://bit.ly/2CBLt8c ► Spaghetti Western: https://bit.ly/2CyCe8I ► All Playlists: https://bit.ly/2EOOfIH #westernmovies #western #freewestern ···················································································· COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed. Django Kill... if You Live , Shoot! - Various factions, feud over stolen gold in a surreal town. Full Length Free Western Movie. Django Kill... if You Live , Shoot! (1967): Director: Giulio Questi Writers: Franco Arcalli (story and screenplay), Giulio Questi (story and screenplay) Stars: Tomas Milian, Marilù Tolo, Piero Lullifeud over stolen gold in a surreal town. Runtime: 1h 52min* Genres: Horror, Western Country: Italy | Spain Language: Italian Release Date: 3 May 1967 (West Germany) Also Known As: Django - Leck Staub von meinem Colt Filming Locations: Elios Studios, Rome, Lazio, Italy Storyline: The Stranger, a half-breed bandit, is part of a band of thieves that steal a cargo of gold from a stagecoach. However, the Americans in the band betray him, and shoot all the Mexicans. The Stranger is not completely dead though, and crawls his way out of his shallow grave, continuing his pursuit of the gold, and exacting a bloody vengeance. Written by David Gibson Review: A fine, if somewhat bananas spaghetti western that cashes in on the Franco Nero/Sergio Corbucci Django of the previous year simply by including Django in the title. What we have here, though, is a marvelous, if somewhat slightly mysterious example of the genre. More interesting than Django is a B***ard, or whatever its called this week, Django Kill really pulls out all the stops in an endless parade of the macabre. From the curious opening scene with Tomas Milian crawling out of a grave to the brutal lynchings and gothic horror drenching of one of many villains in liquid gold- this is a real treat for genre fans. As with many similar movies there are no morals anywhere to be seen, characters turn up, rub their hands together, kill mercilessly and then are shot down or, in this case, killed by an exploding horse. I understand that there are many versions of this movie in existence, which is not surprising in the least. The version i have was shown on uk tv five or six years ago, so i suppose its incompleteness would be down to broadcast quality prints. Its still a real doozer though. Free Western Movie, Full Length Cowboy Film, English: Gunfighter's Moon - A notorious gunfighter returns to his ex-wife, who only wants him to save her sheriff husband from being killed by gunmen out to free his condemned prisoner. Gunfighter's Moon: Director: Larry Ferguson Writer: Larry Ferguson Stars: Lance Henriksen, Kay Lenz, David McIlwraith Genre: Action, Drama, Romance, Western Runtime: 1h 35min Country: USA | Canada Language: English Filming Locations: British Columbia, Canada Storyline: Henrickson plays Frank Morgan, a notorious and feared gunfighter that has lived his life on the run. His face and eyes reveal a man that has been very much hardened by that life. We quickly learn, however, that there is still passion inside. Upon receiving a telegram from Linda, an old lover (played by Kay Lenz), requesting his presence, he abandons his woman, mounts his horse and rides to Linda without giving it a second thought. Upon arrival, he learns that Linda is now happily married to the owner of the local general store. The only vestige of her past that remains is a daughter, who Frank is surprised to learn is his. The daughter, of course, does not know about Frank. Linda, not wanting her to know that her father was a notorious gunfighter has given her a fictional father that died a hero's death at the First Battle of Bull Run. Frank quickly learns that Linda's reason for calling for him has nothing to do with romantic feelings. She wants him to protect her husband. It seems that there was an attempted bank robbery in town and the local sheriff and one of the robbers was killed. The other robber is in jail, waiting to be hanged, and Linda's husband has been appointed to the job of temporary sheriff. A cousin of the prisoner is set to be released from prison in a few days, and has made it clear that he will do whatever is necessary to get his kin out of jail. Linda's husband believes that the town will back him up when the showdown comes, but Linda knows better. She knows that he will be killed unless Frank agrees to help him. The story unfolds as Frank comes to terms with the fact that Linda and, for that matter, his newly discovered daughter are forever beyond his reach. He must decide whether to help the man that now has the woman he loves or to simply ride away. Review: I first saw this movie on a cable movie channel about six years ago. I only caught the last half of the movie, but I loved it so much I searched the TV listings and would watch it every time it came on. I would set my alarm for 2 or 3 AM, whenever it was scheduled, Finally I was asked what I wanted as a Christmas gift. The only thing I could think of was Gunfighter's Moon! When I received it, I was thrilled. I have watched it so many times that I have lost count. It never gets boring or old. It is a classic. Lance Henriksen was incredible as he portrayed Frank Morgan. I found myself "caring" for Morgan as he went through a range of emotions and conflicts. The only thing I am disappointed with is there was no sequel - I wish Gunfighter's Moon 2 had been considered and released. Maybe it will be. This movie has it all - love, struggles, gunfights, hard men and Lance Henriksen with an incredible smile. Lightning Jack (Classic Western, Free Movie, English Film, Full Length) western movie on youtube Lightning Jack (1994): Lightning Jack Kane is an Australian outlaw in the wild west. During a bungled bank robbery he picks up mute Ben Doyle as a hostage. The two become good friends, with Jack teaching Ben how to rob banks, while they plan Jack's last heist. Director: Simon Wincer Writer: Paul Hogan Stars: Paul Hogan, Cuba Gooding Jr., Beverly D'Angelo Country: USA | Australia Language: English Release Date: 2 June 1994 (Germany) Also Known As: Jack Blyskawica Filming Locations: Monument Valley, Arizona, USA Genres: Comedy | Western Plot: Paul Hogan plays Lightning Jack Kane, a long-sighted Australian outlaw in the American west, with his horse, Mate. After the rest of his g*ng is killed in a robbery-gone-wrong, Jack survives only to read of the events in the newspaper that he was nothing next to others. Annoyed at not being recognised as an outlaw, Jack attempts a robbery by himself, and ends up taking young mute Ben Doyle (Cuba Gooding Jr.) as a hostage. He later discovers that, tired of never having been treated with respect due to his disability, Ben wishes to join him. Jack attempts to teach Ben how to fire a gun and rob banks, with his first attempt at "on-the-job" training ending with Ben shooting himself in the foot. Across the course of the training, they pay occasional visits to saloons where Jack shows Ben the truth about adult life, including helping him to lose his virginity. However, the true nature of the saloon visits is for Jack to make contact with showgirl Lana Castel (Beverly D'Angelo), who, unbeknownst to Jack, is madly in love with him. When Ben's training is complete, the two learn of a bank which is said the entire town armed and ready to protect it. Jack sees this as the test he has been waiting for, and together they hatch a plan to rob it. Everything seems to be going smoothly and they are set to begin, until Jack discovers that a rival g*ng of outlaws is also planning to rob the bank. He is prepared to give up when Ben has a plan of his own. Ben silently tips off the townspeople, who quickly swarm the bank with the rival outlaws inside. The g*ng are arrested and the entire town celebrates, allowing Jack and Ben to slip unnoticed into the bank and swiftly strip it clean. Before leaving, Jack jumps into the celebrations, ensuring that his grinning face is seen at the top of the town photo. By the time the true robbery is discovered, the two - and Lana - are gone, with a bounty of thousands on their heads and all of America searching for them - the life that Jack had always wanted. User Reviews (IMDb.com): "This is a comedy set in the old west. Even if it's not your favorite movie genre, it's worth watching if for no reason than the amazing acting by Cuba Gooding, Jr. It takes a talented actor to give such a strong performance without a single word of dialogue. Paul Hogan is as adorable as ever, although the role of Lightning Jack Kane doesn't differ much from his Crocodile Mick Dundee character. The supporting cast nicely fills out the roster of characters. I recommend this film for its light, entertaining value." Young Bill Hickok - Bill Hickok, assisted by Calamity Jane, is after a foreign agent and his guerrilla band who are trying to take over some Western territory just as the Civil War is coming to a close. Young Bill Hickok (1940) Director: Joseph Kane Writers: Norton S. Parker, Olive Cooper Stars: Roy Rogers, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Julie Bishop Genre: Western, Drama, Music Country: USA Language: English Release Date: October 21, 1940 (United States) Also Known As: Aconteceu em Cheyenne Filming Locations: Burro Flats, Simi Hills, California, USA Story: Bill Hickok in his early pre-gunslinger years as a freight-line agent protecting a gold shipment from villains out to steal gold and land out west while America is diverted by the Civil War back East. With the help of Calamity Jane and her horse-trader uncle Hickok battles the bad guys while trying to win the love of his life, Louise, in a formulaic B-Western adventure with songs. Review: Not a bad way to kill an hour This is the first Roy Rogers film I've ever seen in its entirety, although I watched many an episode of his TV show in my younger years. It was a passable B western, with some fine Yakima Canutt stunts, and features an appearance by a veteran of John Wayne's old Lone Star westerns, Jack Rockwell, as a stagecoach driver. Roy, Sally Payne and Gabby sing some fair but forgettable songs, Sally and Gabby's scenes together are a hoot, and Julie Bishop and Trigger both look as comely as ever. The screenwriters in typical Hollywood fashion play fast and loose with the history of these characters and their times.(The notion of anybody trying to take California away from the U.S. is ridiculous, Wild Bill and Calamity didn't meet until almost a dozen years after the Civil War and both were pretty homely looking even by 19th century standards.) All in all, some parts of this film are quite entertaining, it's mostly pleasing to the eye and ear, and it's not a bad way to kill an hour. Dale Roloff. Blazing Justice - A cowboy captures two rustlers and collects a $5000 reward. Using the money to take a vacation, he winds up getting accused of a murder he didn't commit. Blazing Justice (1936) Director: Albert Herman Writers: Zara Tazil Stars: Bill Cody, Gertrude Messinger, Gordon Griffith Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: January 19, 1936 (United States) Filming Locations: Brandeis Ranch, Chatsworth, Los Angeles, California, USA Story: When the Sheriff is shot, Ray Healy catches two of the bandits, but Max, the third bandit escapes. Later, Max commits another robbery and murder and then switches horses with Ray. After convincing the Sheriff he is innocent, Ray has a plan to lure Max into a trap. It is advertised that the deceased's insurance policy will be paid in cash at his funeral. Review: Pleasant Bill Cody Western With a Little Music Producer Ray Kirkwood's wife, Jean (billed as Zara Tazil), added a timely touch to her screenplay for this entry in the Bill Cody series by having a group of cowboys sing a chorus of "Red River Valley" in a saloon to open the picture, immediately after which Bill Cody enters and is also prompted to sing. He and Frank Yaconelli perform "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain," and quite pleasingly. Cody had some musical ability and proved to be a good whistler in a later scene, but one may only speculate as to whether there was a thought of bringing him into the circle of singing cowboys, soon to occupy the spotlight in the world of series westerns. The rest of the script goes quite overboard in feeble attempts at humor and inconsequential dialogue, impeding the movement of the narrative. Peterson (the versatile Budd Buster) is attacked and robbed of his savings by the nefarious Max (former child actor Gordon Griffith). Peterson's daughter, Virginia (Gertrude Messinger), rides after the fleeing criminal - who switches horses with Cody while the latter cleans up beside a stream. The rancher's daughter believes Cody to be the guilty party, and he must prove his innocence. Bill Cody, a native of St. Paul, Minnesota, had begun his screen career in silent features. Not always up on his lines when doing talkies, Bill nevertheless projected a likeable personality. Overlooking the imperfections brought about by a very modest budget, little rehearsal and few re-takes, this is a pleasant western - made near the end of the Cody series. Romance Rides the Range - Baritone singer Barry Glendon, completing a successful season in opera, departs for his ranch in the west over the objections of his manager Tony. Romance Rides the Range (1936) Director: Harry L. Fraser Writers: Tom Gibson Stars: Fred Scott, Cliff Nazarro, Marion Shilling Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: September 1, 1936 (United States) Filming Locations: Santa Clarita, California, USA Story: Baritone singer Barry Glendon, completing a successful season in opera, departs for his ranch in the west over the objections of his manager Tony. Arriving there with his double-talking friend Shorty, Barry learns that a parcel of his vast ranch has been fraudulently sold to Carol Marland and her ailing (and tiresome) young brother Johnny. Pretending he is only the foreman, and having his cowhands go along with it,Barry allows Carol and her whining, growing-ever-more-tiresome brother to believe that they are the actual owners in order to give him a free hand in running down the swindlers who victimized Carol who, with a brother like hers, was a victim to begin with.Barry learns that brothers Clem and Jonas Allen are the villains and, through a ruse in which they are led to believe there is a hidden treasure on the land they sold Carol, they try to buy it back bidding against Barry, who forces the price up.The Allens end up with a high-price piece of worthless land and Barry ends up with Carol, which would be a good deal except her brother is still around. Review: Horse Opera Fred Scott plays an opera singer who started out as a cowhand and goes on vacations to his ranch -- which is not as bizarre as it might sound for your average singing cowboy, as Mr. Scott was once the leading baritone for the San Francisco opera. Meanwhile, pretty Marion Shilling and her brother think they own his ranch, and the usual mixture of comedy -- supplied very pleasantly by Cliff Nazarro -- shooting and riding take place. The direction, like most of the B westerns of this era, is pretty slow by modern standards, but don't let that fool you: cinematographer Robert Cline knows how to compose and light a shot, and director Harry Fraser knows how to keep the story moving along for a very pleasant result. The Kid Ranger - Ranger Ray plans to marry stage driver Bill Mason's daughter Mary. Unknown to Mary, twenty years earlier when he was Sheriff Mason had to kill her father. The Kid Ranger (1936) Director: Robert N. Bradbury Writers: Robert N. Bradbury Stars: Bob Steele, William Farnum, Joan Barclay Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: February 5, 1936 (United States) Filming Locations: Lebec, Kern County, California, USA Story: Ranger Ray plans to marry stage driver Bill Mason's daughter Mary. Unknown to Mary, twenty years earlier when he was Sheriff Mason had to kill her father. Brent was there at the time and now he reappears. To keep the secret, he forces Mason to help him rob the stage. Ray breaks it up and after wounding a disguised Mason, goes for a Doctor. Returning he finds not only has Mason disappeared but also his daughter. Review: "The Kid Ranger" Makes for a Good Ride "The Kid Ranger" is simple, raw, stark, and a bit grim, and although this combination of attributes would be limiting for many movie goers, fans of Bob Steele or 1930's westerns will find this a quite watchable venture. Surprisingly, there is so much story, and the rest of the cast are so busy in telling the story, that Steele's screen time may be the lowest ever in a Bob Steele starring role. And that is fine, because the screen is alive and in good and fascinating stead with plenty of screen time for William Farnum and Earl Dwire. Farnum shows off his characteristic exaggerated eye play, presumably a holdover acting approach from his silent movie days that he never shed, to good advantage; he always shows a lot of charisma. And then we have Earl Dwire in one of his most lecherous, treacherous, and sadistic bad guy portrayals of his career. One ends up really detesting Dwire after this one! All in all, a pretty good story with a flowing script, a series of fascinating and gritty characterizations, and an appropriately unadorned atmosphere (thanks to a paltry budget) make for a tasty western movie experience. Louisiana Gal - The setting is 1803 and the Louisiana Purchase is imminent. Gilmore is smuggling guns into St. Louis so his men can make him Governor of the new Louisiana Territory. Louisiana Gal (1937) Director: Irvin Willat Writers: John T. Neville, Mary Ireland Stars: Tom Keene, Rita Hayworth, Robert Fiske Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: March 1, 1937 Also Known As: Old Louisiana Story: The setting is 1803 and the Louisiana Purchase is imminent. Gilmore is smuggling guns into St. Louis so his men can make him Governor of the new Louisiana Territory. But when John Colfax, after conferring with President Jefferson, finds the guns, Gilmore gets him thrown in jail. Review: Excellent Low-Budget Historical Drama Producer E. B. Derr's series starring Tom Keene was intended to be "something different," and it was. Tom had been associated with series Westerns, though not exclusively, but Mr. Derr's series for release through his independent Crescent Pictures banner was intended as something else. This was a series of program pictures intended as historical dramas, their pressbooks including such features as "Tom Keene's History Lessons," encouraging teacher endorsements. While series Westerns were often set in the 19th century, historical accuracy was not necessarily sought or always delivered. Mr. Derr's series hoped to use authentic historical events to generate audience-pleasing stories. OLD LOUISIANA is often regarded today as simply an early film appearance of beautiful Rita Hayworth, a dancer/actress later to become a major screen attraction. It is, however, a fine film which may be judged on its own merits. Adhering fairly well to history, the screenplay - story credited to John Thomas Neville and script to Mary Ireland - reflects their research and intent to place their fictional characters in an authentic context. The budget did not permit elaborate settings to be used, but Arthur Martinelli's lensing judiciously captures what matters. The characteristically valiant Mr. Keene and the lovely Miss Hayworth are ably supported by expert cowboy character man Budd Buster, splendid heavies Robert Fiske and Raphael Bennett (the latter outdoing himself as the despicable "Flint," who twice seeks to murder the man who saved his life) and an excellent cast of character people. Eugene Borden, unbilled (and seldom seen in independent productions), is fine as always in his role as proprietor of a rowdy inn/tavern, even singing a verse and chorus of the traditional "Drink Old England Dry." Motion Picture Herald, at the time of its release, wrote about OLD LOUISIANA "Both entertainment and educational values have been incorporated in a dramatic romance told against a historical background, and with abundant action. The picture is capably produced, acted, and directed...." Parents' Magazine called it a "good historical Western, for adults, young people, and children." A Western..? Well, the Crescent Keenes were sold as a series, were not big budget productions, and Mr. Keene had been a leading cowboy actor. Perhaps that explains their being sometimes characterized as Westerns. Maybe the term "historical drama" makes a film such as OLD LOUISIANA sound pretentious. Whatever the category, this picture sustains interest, successfully captures the feel of the era its script depicts, and is well directed by Irvin Willat, with good performances from a sturdy cast of capable players. Bulldog Courage - A miner who was swindled out of his mine by a banker turns to robbing stagecoaches. Several years after he is tracked down and killed, his son comes to town to tangle with the banker. Bulldog Courage (1935) Director: Sam Newfield Writers: Frances Guihan, Joseph O'Donnell Stars: Tim McCoy, Joan Woodbury, Karl Hackett Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: December 30, 1935 (United States) Also Known As: Homem Sem Medo Story: Williams is after Brennan's mine. As Brennan owes him money, Williams has his men rob the stage containing the money Brennan needs to pay him back. Tim takes the money from the robbers and pays off Brennan's note. Williams was responsible for the death of Tim's father and Tim vows to continue the fight. When Williams sends a man to blow up Brennan's mine, Tim is ready. Review: Solid B-Western This is a solid B-Western that's mostly carried by the plot, with some interest added by the dual role of Tim McCoy, as a father and son. The story has mostly familiar elements, but it moves at a steady pace, and the production gets decent usage out of generally inexpensive settings and other resources. McCoy's first character is one of many men who have been swindled by the villain, a dishonest banker who is not above using illegal means, including violence, to seize valuable properties. The fraud victim is succeeded by his son, who carries on the battle against the banker and his cronies. Much of it is predictable, but there are some interesting developments and a couple of good sequences. The best scenes are toward the beginning. The first holdup sequence features some entertaining touches, and the subsequent chase also adds a couple of interesting details. The father character, who is only in the first few scenes, is actually the more interesting of the two. McCoy also gives him quite a bit more personality and depth than he gives the son, who is the main character the rest of the way. Joan Woodbury is nice to look at as the daughter of his father's old associate, but her limited role doesn't give her very much to work with. The supporting cast features a few good moments from Paul Fix, as one of the banker's shady contacts. There are some obvious ways that it could have been better. The son character is one-dimensional and is not really that interesting, at least when compared with his father. The editing is also rather ragged throughout the movie, which occasionally becomes a distraction. But the pluses are easily enough to make it entertaining and to be worth watching for the hour or so that it runs. Battle of Greed - When silver is found in Virginia City, Lawyer John Storm leads a group from Indiana west. He soon has to defend them all in court against a company that is after their claims. Battle of Greed (1937) Director: Howard Higgin Writers: John T. Neville Stars: Tom Keene, Gwynne Shipman, James Bush Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: January 18, 1937 (United States) Filming Locations: Newhall, California, USA Story: When silver is found in Virginia City, Lawyer John Storm leads a group from Indiana west. He soon has to defend them all in court against a company that is after their claims. Fighting a crooked Judge, he gets a mis-trial by telling how much each of the jurors was bribed. Then he gets the Governor to appoint a new Judge. But just as the retrial opens, the Judge learns his daughter has been kidnaped. Review: Entertaining Historical Fiction from Crescent Pictures Although producer E. B. Derr used many of the same actors and much of the same crew for his series of eight Crescent historical fiction dramas starring Tom Keene, a variety of directors took the reins as the series progressed. BATTLE OF GREED is well directed by Howard Higgin, who succeeds in getting from Tom Keene one of his best performances, as an Indiana attorney who leads a group to Virginia City, Nevada, after the Comstock Lode has sparked a silver boom in 1859. John Thomas Neville's story ties in a number of events and characters from the pages of American history, and the screenplay brings in James Bush as a young Mark Twain, local newspaperman who becomes a friend of Keene's. Gwynne Shipman is the romantic interest, Robert Fiske is again a splendid villain, and Raphael Bennett has one of his best screen roles as a despicable adversary of the protagonist. Juvenile actor Jimmy Butler, usually seen in major studio productions, delivers a fine performance as Keene's young brother. Henry Rocquemore does a nice job as an unscrupulous judge. Series regular Budd Buster portrays one of the old miners responsible for the discovery of silver. The melodramatic events which unfold during the six reels take precedence over the historical narrative, sustaining interest until the evil-doers are finally vanquished and the virtuous figures are safe and contented. Review: Steele and the greatest Western cast Farley (John Merton) starts off the fisticuffs, "As for you Ferron (Bob Steele) keep off this range and that goes for that cattle rustling father of yours." If that's not enough, the notorious Jack Pine Mountain gang is an unstoppable gang of outlaws. This movie got me addicted to Bob Steele movies. Watching again after many years it gets better with age. Ted Adams as Wolf Whitson plays a tremendous role as the outlaw gone good. What better can you ask for then Wampus Baby Star Jean Carmen as the leading lady. Ernie Adams is a most versatile Western actor and does the sidekick role here to perfection. Brand of the Outlaws - Gary Gray arrives only to be caught up in the rustling activities of Ben Holt and his gang. First Holt brands him for rustling and then frames him for murder. Brand of the Outlaws (1936) Director: Robert N. Bradbury Writers: Robert N. Bradbury, Forbes Parkhill Stars: Bob Steele, Margaret Marquis, Jack Rockwell Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: August 15, 1936 (United States) Also Known As: O Sinete do Crime Filming Locations: Walker Ranch - 19152 Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall, California, USA Story: Gary Gray arrives only to be caught up in the rustling activities of Ben Holt and his gang. First Holt brands him for rustling and then frames him for murder. Proven innocent, Gary foils the gang's stage holdup and then heads after Holt whom he now knows to be the real killer. But Holt knows he is coming and waits unseen in ambush. Review: Wrong Time, Wrong Place Bob Steele is drifting when he comes across sheriff Ed Cassidy, badly wounded after a fight with rustlers. He bandages the wounds and gets him back into town. then heads on out and runs into the outlaws with their cattle and innocently gets a job with them. The deputies come across them and the rustlers scatter, leaving Bob. The lead deputy, Jack Rockwell, is one of the gang. He brands Bob and orders him out of the county -- thinking tha will keep him from identifying his confederates. However, Bob finds himself led by chance deeper into the proceedings.... It's one of Bob's last movies with his father, Robert Bradbury directing (they would do only four more together), and it's nicely written, with a couple of nice fight scenes and some good riding. Charles King, who seems ubiquitous in 1930s B westerns, has a sizable role as the father of ingenue Margaret Marquis, member of the gang and murder victim. Although Bob doesn't display the dramatic athleticism of his roles five years early, it's another solid B western for him. Ed Spencer, owner of the railroad spur through the town, and Ted Greenway, rancher and owner of the right-of-way which provides the only other route to the station, form a combine through which they hope to freeze the other ranchers out of their holdings by charging exorbitant prices to the ranchers to get their horses or cattle shipped. At a meeting of the ranchers, Tom discloses that he is a government man and has a plan to beat the scheme since they can't afford the railroad fees nor the water cost if they use he trail. Tom will buy the stock as a government agent since there is a clause that states that animals bought for government use are allowed water rights on anyone's property while traveling the trail they have to use. Spencer and Greenway are not overly thrilled with this news so they go to Plan B, which is to just steal the stock outright. Alias the Bad Man (1931) Director: Phil Rosen Writers: Earle Snell, Ford Beebe Stars: Ken Maynard, Tarzan, Virginia Brown Faire Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: July 15, 1931 (United States) Also Known As: Alias Bad Man Filming Locations: Andy Jauregui Ranch - Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall, California, USA Story: Texas Ranger Ken Neville receives a letter from his father, rancher Clem Neville stating that a neighboring rancher, Silas Warner is stealing his cattle and also accusing Neville of being a rustler. Ken leaves to help his father, while a fellow Ranger, a stutterer named Ned "Repeater" Simpson follows him. Meanwhile, the elder Neville now suspects that local saloon owner Rance Collins is really the man behind the rustlings and, after telling Warner's daughter Mary that he is going out to see her father, takes a telegram confirming his suspicions about Collins and his past to Warner. Collins learns from Mary, who doesn't know the details, about Neville's planned visit, and he and henchman Rawhide follow him. Collins, listening through an open window, learns that the two ranchers know he is behind their feud and troubles, shoots them both and arranges the bodies to look as if they had killed each other in a quarrel. Ken, concealing his identity from Mary, learns from her that she had told Collins that Neville was riding out to the Warner ranch. As he is leaving the Warner ranch, he meets foreman "Black Mike" Richards, and then sees him in town that night in the saloon talking to Collins. Later, Ken approaches Collins and tells him he knows of his past rustling reputation in Toponah and that he himself is the notorious "Red River" Ganz and they ought to go into partnership. "Repeater", following a plan he and Ken devised comes into the saloon, identifies himself as a Texas Ranger and is shot by Ken in a faked shootout. The impressed Collins takes Ken on and sends him to the Warner ranch to work with henchman "Black Mike." But Mary learns accidentally that Ken is Neville's son and she, ever-trusting, tells Collins. This does not enhance Ken's chances of getting the goods on Collins. Review: exciting, fun Tiffany western with Ken Maynard in his prime The 1930-33 westerns Ken Maynard made for Tiffany (in between stints with Universal) are a consistent lot, full of action and wit. Some incorporate off-the-wall comedy or horror elements (like Hoot Gibson, Maynard had a wild sense of humor!), but ALIAS THE BADMAN is a gritty, straightforward western with Ken as a ranger posing as an outlaw who is posing as a ranger! Ken has a politically incorrect stuttering sidekick named "Repeater" (Irving Bacon), and silent star Frank Mayo is impressive as the crooked town boss who turns the local ranchers against each other. Director Phil Rosen is better-known for his later mysteries and crime films, but he directed many westerns in the early sound period, and he handles the unique Maynard mix of comedy and action and mystery quite well. Maynard looks great here too, unlike in some of his later Columbia and Monogram films. An excellent entry in the Maynard series for Tiffany. Big Boy Rides Again (1935) Director: Albert Herman Writers: William L. Nolte Stars: Guinn 'Big Boy' WilliamsConstance BergenCharles K. French Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: January 5, 1935 (United States) Also Known As: Rough and Ready Filming Locations: Walker Ranch - 19152 Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall, California, USA Story: Receiving an urgent letter from his father to return home, Tom Duncan arrives to find him murdered. When his servant and then his sidekick disappear, Tom sees a masked stranger leaving the ranch and chases him. But the stranger's men are waiting and Tom soon finds himself a prisoner. Review: The worst bar fight in the history of cinema This movie is a classic "MST3K" movie. Nonsensical cuts and segues make following this movie nearly impossible. This movie contains, bar none, the worst bar fight in the history of movies (ironically, Guinn "Big Boy" Williams was in the classic western "Dodge City", which contains one of the best barroom brawls in movie history), with disappearing people, props, and cuts in action that follow no form of chronological continuum. That said, I can only say that I wish I had this classic clunker on tape. Across the Plains - Two brothers separated when young meet as adults, one good and one bad. Across the Plains (1939) Director: Spencer Gordon Bennet Writers: Robert Emmett Tansey Stars: Jack Randall, Rusty the Horse, Frank Yaconelli Genre: Western, Drama Country: USA Language: English Release Date: June 1, 1939 (United States) Also Known As: Riders of the Rio Grande Filming Locations: Lone Pine, California, USA Story: Two young brothers are separated when their wagon train is attacked and their parents killed. One brother Cherokee is raised by Indians and the other, the Kansas Kid, by the outlaw gang leader Buff. Twenty years later they unknowingly meet again when the Kid goes after wagons being guided by Cherokee. Review: One of the all-time great directors with a good cast, but ... Jack Randall probably could have become a bigger star, judging by his performance here, if he had had more experience and more exposure. His director in "Across the Plains" was one of the all-time greats, Spencer Gordon Bennett, who did some wonderful work as far back as the silent days. I remember watching a serial at the lamented Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax in Los Angeles and just marveling at the attention to detail Bennett paid. I sat in absolute awe then and at his later pictures. Bennett, Randall, and the cast had a good story, one that got used in many variations and by many production companies, but the low budget got in the way. For example, the fight scenes were really lame. No Yakima Canutt or David Sharpe was present to get that wild action that highlighted, for example, John Wayne and Republic pictures battles. But there were superior players to make up for those lacks. Frank Yaconelli was one of the best "Mexicans" Hollywood ever had, and Joyce Bryant was lovely, although she didn't get to do much besides look good. Dennis Moore has always impressed me, partly because of his great voice, but he's usually more than adequate in even the small roles he had. He too is someone I think should have become a star. Glenn Strange is always good to see, and he had a different role here, a somewhat understated good guy. Remember Glenn Strange was so often so evil, why, once he even shot Charlie King in the back! Now that's low. Bud Osborne got a meaty part, and, as usual, he handled it beautifully. He was always dependable and frequently a better actor than others in whatever cast he was in. "Across the Plains" is available on Westerns on the Web, one of the greatest innovations since Algore invented the Internet. I recommend it, even though it's not the greatest western I've seen, not even seen this week. But it was my first chance to see Jack Randall, and now I'm going to look for more of his films. California Passage - A series of reversals bring two desperate people together. When a saloon owner is framed by his partner for a stagecoach robbery, he fights to secure an acquittal. California Passage (1950) Director: Joseph Kane Writer: James Edward Grant Stars: Forrest Tucker, Adele Mara, Estelita Rodriguez Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: 15 December 1950 (USA) Filming Locations: Republic Studios - 4024 Radford Avenue, North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA Story Line: A series of reversals bring two desperate people together. When a saloon owner is framed by his partner for a stagecoach robbery, he fights to secure an acquittal. Reviews: "In reviewing another of a member of the original "Dallas" cast's previous movie and/or TV appearances in chronological order, I once again watched another of Jim Davis' Republic movies from 1950. In this one, he reteams with Forrest Tucker from Hellfire and Brimstone and director Joseph Kane from the latter and The Savage Horde. He's been both a good guy and a bad guy and here, well, I'll just leave it to you to find out which he is if you ever get the chance to watch on Netflix Streaming which is where I found this but I'll say that as a partner of Tucker in a gambling joint, he doesn't get much trust from him. Written by James Edward Grant who would frequently also create many John Wayne vehicles, this is a fine western rich in both characterization and action. So on that note, I'll just say I highly recommend California Passage. P.S. When Davis' character meets the leading lady Adele Mara, he initially mistakingly addresses her as a Miss Wentworth before she corrects him by saying her name is Beth Martin. That made me chuckle a little since I knew that on "Dallas", there was a character named Rebecca Wentworth who was Pam and Cliff Barnes' mother." Written by tavm on IMDb.com "I call Lounge those westerns from Republic pictures which most of the time took place more in lounges and saloons, cabarets and saloons than in the open land. Those westerns starring the likes of Rod Cameron, Forrest Tucker, Vera Ralston, John Russell and many more "acteurs maison". Not bad features, not that intellectual either but nothing to do with John Ford nor John Sturges either. Those westerns where leads wore more costumes than cow boys pants and shirts. I have nothing more to say about this movie made by Joe Kane, another "maison" director from the Serial company. PS Jack Ford actually directed a couple of westerns for Republic an they had nothing to do with this kind. Nothing at all." Written by searchanddestroy-1 on IMDb.com "This was a step above most low budget "Pulp Westerns" It is surprisingly well written for this type of Western. Joseph Kane's directing shows a genuine command for the western. James Edward Grant successfully weaves a yarn that is a good mix of action and character banter, Forest Tucker stars and is Very believable as the handsome leading Man, Mike Prescott. Jim Davis is wooden as Linc" Corey especially during the scene where he woos Adele Mara's Bess. Davis is a very believable and effective villain. He's much more at ease in the saddle and in the action scenes. Charles Kemper as the humorous Sheriff Willy steals the movie. He was very an effective foil to some of the violence good comic relief. All in all California Passage was nice ride into the Old West." Duel at Apache Wells - A young man returns home after several years' absence to find that a gang is after not only his family ranch, but his girlfriend as well. Duel at Apache Wells (1957) Director: Joseph Kane Writers: Robert Creighton Williams Stars: Anna Maria Alberghetti, Ben Cooper, Jim Davis Genre: Western Country: United States Language: English Also Known As: The Durango Gunfighter Release Date: January 25, 1957 (United States) Filming Location: Republic Studios - 4024 Radford Avenue, North Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA(Studio) Reviews: Once again, I found another Jim Davis western he made for Republic Pictures and director/producer Joe Kane. This time he's Dean Cannary, a ruthless owner of the waters of the title place. He's at war with the elderly Wayne Shattuck (Harry Shannon) who previously fired him. Good thing his son, Johnny (Ben Cooper), has returned home to help him in the fight. I'll stop there and just say that I very much enjoyed another one of these old-fashioned oaters from the now-defunct Republic especially when Davis was on screen with his creepy smile. Made him perfect as the one who eventually portrayed J.R. Ewing's dad! As always, he wears his western boots well. Both Cooper and Shannon give all they got, acting-wise, against him. I also liked Anna Maria Alberghetti as Anita, the woman who loves Johnny but may have to marry Cannary if he gets his way. So on that note, Duel at Apache Wells gets a recommendation from me. P.S. Since I always like to cite when a player from my favorite movie, It's a Wonderful Life, is in another one, here it's Argentina Brunetti-Mrs. Martini there-who plays the housekeeper of the Shuttucks, Tia Maria, here. Her presence is charming enough when on screen. - written by "tavm" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) Duel at Apache Wells Argentina Duelo en Pozo Apache(theatrical title) Australia Duel at Apache Wells Austria Durango Kid, der Rächer Brazil Tirania das Balas Canada Duel at Apache Wells(English) Canada Bagarre à Apache Wells(French) Denmark Dødspasset i Arizona Finland Preerian teräsnyrkki France Bagarre à Apache Wells Greece I koilada tis kataras(transliterated title) Italy Combattimento ai pozzi apache Netherlands Duel om de apache-bron(informal title) New Zealand Duel at Apache Wells(English) Romania Duel la Apache Wells South Africa Duel at Apache Wells(English) Sweden Duell vid djävulsklippan United Kingdom Duel at Apache Wells United Kingdom The Durango Gunfighter(Alternative Title) United States Duel at Apache Wells West Germany Durango Kid, der Rächer West Germany Die Spur führt nach El Paso(Alternative Title) ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE WESTERN MOVIES! He has sculpted Good Looks framed in a Stunning yet Simplistic Outfit (no spangles or fringes here). He Speaks in Mellifluous Tones that Demand Attention and Respect. He has Style Without Pretensions, smoothly Spinning his Gun back in the holster and Gliding onto his Beloved Silver whether at a Standstill or a Gallop. Along with his Faithful Companion Tonto, who Exudes excessive amounts of Supreme Stature in his own right, the Ranger must Rescue a Kidnapped little Girl, Stop an all out Indian Uprising, and Battle numerous amounts of Injustice, Greed, and Bigotry. Home in Oklahoma - Roy edits a small town newspaper. A rancher is murdered, and his fortune is inherited by a young boy. Editor Roy, with the assistance (?) of big city reporter Dale, brings the killers to justice. Home in Oklahoma (1946) Director: William Witney Writers: Gerald Geraghty Stars: Roy Rogers, Trigger, George 'Gabby' Hayes Genre: Drama, Music, Western Country: United States Language: English Release Date: October 18, 1946 (United States) Filming Location: Oklahoma, USA Synopsis: In this Roy Rogers entry, featuring a song written by Oklahoma Governor Roy J. Turner (making him and Louisiana's Jimmie Davis and Texas' W.E. "Pappy" O'Daniel possibly the only state governors to write songs used in a western), Flying T ranch owner Sam Talbot is killed by a fall from a horse. St. Louis reporter Connie Edwards comes to check a rumor that he might have been murdered. She goes to Roy Rogers, editor of the local newspaper, and he takes her to the reading of Talbot's will. The ranch is left to Talbot's 12-year-old ward, Duke Lowery, much to the dismay of Talbot's niece, Jan Holloway. After some attempts on Duke's life, Roy finally proves that Jan, Steve McClory and coroner Jim Judnick had Talbot killed and are conspiring to do the same for Duke, making Jan the last heir. Reviews: Packs into an hour a dense, exciting mystery narrative, terrific action sequences, visual and verbal wit and catchy songs to boot. I'd have felt completely satisfied had I seen this in a theater back in the day. I Killed Wild Bill Hickok | COLORIZED | Free Western Film

I Killed Wild Bill Hickok - Told in flashback, this is the story of the man that shot Wild Bill Hickok. I Killed Wild Bill Hickok (1956) Director: Richard Talmadge Writer: Johnny Carpenter Stars: Johnny Carpenter, Helen Westcott, Tom Brown Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Filming Location: Iverson Ranch - 1 Iverson Lane, Chatsworth, Los Angeles, California, USA Reviews: "Reformed outlaw John Carpenter (not that one) gets embroiled in the usual drama between some good-hearted ranchers and a ruthless horse trader who employs the titular legendary gunslinger as his muscle. Guess what happens to Mr. Hickok? This is yet another very basic Western programmer, but it's a perfectly pleasant one. Director and stuntman Richard Talmadge really knows how to put together an action sequence -- he went on to be stunt coordinator for high-profile movies like How the West Was Won and North to Alaska -- which helps to cover for the plot deficiencies. I'm not sure whether this screenplay was hard to follow or just didn't hold my attention very well, but there's enough well-staged action to keep it watchable even if you drift away from time to time. It also helps that the cast is a solid roster of genre players. Denver Pyle is the best-known name, with Helen Westcott giving the most memorable performance as a brassy cowgirl. Not a bad little bit of Western fluff on the whole, but what grabs me about this one are its exploitation bona fides. Playing fast and loose with the historical record is par for the course with cheap Westerns, but this one just wholesale slaps the name of a marketable real-life gunslinger onto an otherwise generic villain and tosses it up on the marquee. The Hickok character bears zero resemblance to his nonfictional namesake and isn't even the lead antagonist! That's some real chutzpah, but it tracks with the rest of leading man John Carpenter's (aka Johnny Carpenter, aka John Forbes) story. Looking through his filmography, he was a stuntman and supporting player in a bunch of Westerns throughout the '40s, usually playing uncredited roles as henchmen and ranch hands. He coincidentally graduated to lead roles riiiight about the same time he started writing and producing his own movies. He put out one "written by and starring" movie a year from 1953 to 1956, then settled back into supporting parts on Western TV shows. I love that kind of thing -- maybe he never broke big in Hollywood, but by god, he made himself into a Western hero for four more movies than most people can claim! One more fun postscript: one of Carpenter's final credits before he made his foray into writing his own vehicles is an early TV Western called "Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok," on which he played four separate small parts. I'd like to think this movie's naked Hickoksploitation was intended as a subtle farewell to those kinds of parts. (Not a successful one, sadly, as this was the final entry in Carpenter's string of self-made movies.)" written by "Ira Brooker" on letterboxd.com ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE WESTERN MOVIES! Believed false by the girl he loves, Margaret , Kurrie must prove himself by unmasking a gang of bandits preying on the trains. Review: One of Hart's Best! One of my top picks for pre-sound westerns is the William S. Hart 1920 production, "Sand". (There is no exclamation mark after the title. The entry in the Library of Congress is wrong. "Sand" is the name of Hart's horse, who has an important role to play in the plot). Using a story by Russell A. Boggs as a kick-off, director Lambert Hillyer has fashioned a very interesting script with a well-developed plot and realistically full-blooded characters, set against rugged backgrounds with lots of fascinating details. For instance, I love the bit where hero Hart deliberately allows a really nasty bushwhacker to escape. And of course all the railroad lore had me locked in a seventh heaven. The acting is great. Bill Hart, Mary Thurman, G. Raymond Nye (and to a lesser extent, the lovely Patricia Palmer who made nearly 150 movies between 1913 and 1929) turn in engrossingly realistic performances. Production values are first class, with a special nod for Joe August's fine camera-work. Keene thinks Cantrell killed him and forged the will and he is out to prove it. After catching Cantrell's man Jackson who confesses that is what happened, he heads to town for a showdown. Reviews: "One of the more interesting of the six Lane Chandler oaters Willis Kent produced in 1932. (The others: Battling Buckaroo, Guns for Hire, Lawless Valley, The Reckless Rider, Texas Tornado). Although it lifts at least two action sequences from Oliver Drake's otherwise rather pedestrianly directed "Texas Tornado", it benefits from a superior script and the often inventive handling of Armand Schaefer who is not afraid to move his camera (if sometimes rather shakily) to jazz up the story. The players also have a chance to get their histrionic teeth into characters that are a bit more rounded than the usual offerings. Even Chandler seems more at home in this picture, the heroine is pretty (if rather shrill of voice), Mr Todd is delightfully bad- tempered, Mr Bridge plays the heavy with his usual dexterity, whilst his henchman Yakima Canutt shows unexpected mettle in a splendid scene in which he is forced to join in the bunkhouse sing-song!" - written by "JohnHowardReid" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) The Wyoming Whirlwind United Kingdom The Wyoming Whirlwind United States The Wyoming Whirlwind United States Roaring Rider(TV Title) ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE WESTERN MOVIES! After another member is killed it becomes apparent that Rutledge and the Indian Otah are the culprits, but they are now in Indian territory without food and water. Reviews: The Riders Of The Whistling Skull is The Three Mesquiteers best and most famous adventure and the best B-western of the nineteen-thirties, with more action, thrills, and suspense in it's fifty-three minutes than in all twelve chapters of some of Republic Pictures' serials! The story involves the Three Mesquiteers and their search for the missing father of a pretty archaeologist, kidnapped by a sinister Indian cult after discovering the lost city of Lukachukai and it's treasure, all surrounding the creepy rock formation known as The Whistling skull. This is first rate all the way with great locations and lots of weird touches like the cult's ritual dance (with a young Iron Eyes Cody in attendance) and the "mummy" who stands up and brandishes a knife! The Painted Trail - Tom Gray is sent to bring in a gang smuggling goods across the border. Posing as the wanted outlaw the Pecos Kid, he joins Prescott's gang. But his true identity becomes known when the real Pecos Kid shows up. The Painted Trail (1938) Director: Robert F. Hill Writers: Robert Emmett Tansey Stars: Tom Keene, Eleanor Stewart, LeRoy Mason Genre: Drama, Western Country: United States Language: English Release Date: February 16, 1938 (United States) Reviews: Tom Keene, who is rapidly becoming one of my favorite western actors, stars as Tom Gray a government agent who is called back into action to help stop cattle smuggling (and worse) along the Texas Mexico border. Posing as the Pecos Kid he runs into trouble when he meets a young woman who knows him from a previous assignment. Its a rip roaring action film thats a great deal of fun. It doesn't completely follow the typical formula to the letter and its better for it. Its a wonderful western, even for those who don't like westerns. Almost caught by them, he escapes only to be arrested by the Sheriff who thinks he's one of the gang. The Mystery of the Hooded Horsemen (1937) Director: Ray Taylor Writers: Edmond Kelso Stars: Tex Ritter, White Flash, Iris Meredith Genre: Drama, Music, Western Country: United States Language: English Release Date: August 6, 1937 (United States) Filming Location: Kernville, California, USA Reviews: When his old mentor is killed by black-hooded baddies with skull-and-crossbones on their chests, Tex and his sidekick Stubby head up to the old man's mine look for clues and protect the remaining miners from the mysterious gang. Colorful villains, some decent action scenes, including a nice saloon brawl with veteran heavy Charles King, and some great songs, all make this pretty agreeable entertainment for fans of Tex Ritter and nineteen-thirties B-westerns in general. In my opinion, Ritter was the most personable and the best singer of the Saturday matinée westerns and Grand National Pictures the best at strategically placing great songs to cover up the slow parts. - written by "FightingWesterner" on IMDb.com Also Known As (AKA): (original title) The Mystery of the Hooded Horsemen Australia The Mystery of the Hooded Horsemen Canada The Mystery of the Hooded Horseman(English) Jamaica The Mystery of the Hooded Horsemen(English) Portugal O Mistério dos Embuçados Spain Jinetes enmascarados United Kingdom The Mystery of the Hooded Horsemen United States The Mystery of the Hooded Horsemen ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.com FOLLOW US! ✘ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/grjngo_westernmovies ✘ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Grjngo_com SUPPORT US! ✘ Membership - https://bit.ly/2V63h4q ✘ Merchandise - https://bit.ly/2FLB0sV MORE WESTERN MOVIES! Rawhide Rangers - Blackie's lawless gang is running wild. When Rangers Brand Calhoun and his brother investigate, the brother is killed. Rawhide Rangers (1941) Director: Ray Taylor Writers: Ed Earl Repp Stars: Johnny Mack Brown, Fuzzy Knight, Kathryn Adams Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: July 18, 1941 (United States) Also Known As: Coragem e Castigo Filming Locations: Iverson Ranch - 1 Iverson Lane, Chatsworth, Los Angeles, California, USA Story: Blackie's lawless gang is running wild. When Rangers Brand Calhoun and his brother investigate, the brother is killed. Brand quits the Rangers and becomes an outlaw. When he beats Blackie's men to the jobs, they capture him and make him one of their gang. This is what Brand wanted and he alerts the Rangers about the next robbery. Review: Ranger gone bad? Johnny Mack Brown and his brother are Texas Rangers. When his brother is killed, Johnny "quits" the Rangers and turns outlaw. Before you know it, he's turned into a better criminal than the gang he's after and they want him to join their gang. What do you think happens? Another enjoyable B-western starring the man from Alabama and what you get is the usual hard ridin' and high shootin', however interspersed between these dramatic episodes you get Fuzzy Knight trying to steal the cook's pie and the cook counters these attempts with ways to stop him. Also inserted are some songs. I did wonder though how come the robbers didn't question Brown turning to life of crime and accepting to join their gang when they were responsible of killing his brother. But it's best not to think deeply and just enjoy it as good old entertainment. The Talisman - Jagged lightning of a gathering thunderstorm. Buzzards circle over smoldering debris of a wagon train massacre. Two people are left alive. The Talisman (1966) Director: John Carr Writers: John Carr Stars: Ned Romero, Linda Hawkins, Richard Thies Genre: Western Country: USA Language: English Release Date: November 2, 1966 (United States) Also Known As: The Savage American Filming Locations: Agua Dulce Canyon, Agua Dulce, California, USA Story: Jagged lightning of a gathering thunderstorm. Buzzards circle over smoldering debris of a wagon train massacre. Two people are left alive. One, a Cheyenne warrior, fallen unconscious under his dying pony. The Indian drags himself free. Reviving from her faint into a living nightmare is The Woman. He starts to knife her. Then, a huge bird hovers above. To him, a great sign, the spirit of the storm come to spare her life. The morning light assuages her fears. He has not hurt her. A fire kept her warm and he has made a clumsy attempt to feed her. He can't comprehend her words. She draws stick figures in the dirt to express her need to reach a settlement of her own kind. Thus begins an arduous trek across brutal terrain. Fighting off and killing a Crow war party, the Indian gains a horse and a rifle. Enduring winter's freeze and a bear attack, they survive. Their bond of respect and trust becomes love. Review: Nifty exploitation western saved from the boneyard of lost media. In a rugged and desolate part of the untamed west, a young white woman and a warrior of the Cheyenne people are the sole survivors of a bloody clash during the Colorado War. The warrior prepares to kill the woman, but he sees a spirit bird fly overhead, behoving him to her protection. By and by, a growing trust and mutuality between the two blossoms into love. When the woman is latterly violated by a group of boorish white outlaws, the distraught warrior vows to avenge her...red man style! Director JOHN CARR, noted chiefly for a few low budget horror films he made during the 80s, debuted with this unconventional black-and-white western with a light sprinkling of the supernatural. It was long thought to be a lost film until it emerged out of nowhere on Youtube, and I, for one, was pleasantly surprised by it. It's admittedly rough around the edges, and looks several years older than it is, but the bitterly poignant story is well told, and a few lurid scenes in the final third provide just enough old school exploitation kick to keep things lively. Not a classic, maybe, but certainly a worthy rediscovery. 6/10. Review: Some old friends need help This Cisco Kid film brings Duncan Renaldo and Martin Garralaga South Of The Rio Grande where he is answering a call from help from a family he knew from childhood. He arrives too late to help them as they are killed, but others in the area are similarly afflicted. Part of Renaldo's plan calls for him to impersonate the new administrator who was killed on the road. This calkls for Cisc to think fast on his feet which he does. Renaldo also gets to sing a couple of Spanish ditties and if he wasn't dubbed had a few nice notes in his voice. Good entry in the series.
